I think this article could be written "How to DJ like Tom Brady." Tom Brady being the best NFL athlete ever winning 7/10 Superbowl's.

The NFL Quarterback (QB) is like a DJ. QB's have a to know every play in their teams playbook. The average NFL playbook consists of around 250 plays, but some teams have playbooks that include up to 1,000 plays. DJ's have to "know" every song in their Library. My Rekordbox list says I have "4,000+" tracks.

QB's have to know what play to run and when to deploy that play in any given situation. DJ's have to do the same with music tracks during a set.

QB's practice everyday (regularly) to be ready to play on Game day. DJ's should practice regularly to be ready for gigs.

QB's select a plays to deploy against their opponents on game day called a "game plan."

DJ's select tracks for a gig as each gig is different. (18th Bday vs 50th Bday party or Tech House set vs Ibiza type Deep house set)

DJ's have to be ready to dumb there game plan and Audible (change up the plan) and come with a new game plan of play in real time because original plan not working.

DJ's have to deviate from orginal playlist set as that crowd is not feeling the music you thought they would.

Knowing all of your library (Plays/Music) and having them categorized/Tagged/ID'd will help you do this successfully. That comes with practice/preparation.

Overall my point is as DJs we can learn from the best Pro athletes from any sport, Practice and preperation is the key to success.

I hope this makes sense. I would love to verbally talk about this with you as I think a lot of beginner DJ's could benefit from understanding this.

I love your work/content! Keep it up!
