Rekordbox Stems Have Arrived For Your Controller!
Hi Turntable Titans,
Just a few days ago, Pioneer finally launched the DDJ-FLX-10 - and with it - Rekordbox Stems (Actually, they call it Track Separation - but we won’t talk about the branding).
Stems unlock a whole new world of creative DJing and possibilities for your transitions.
And the good news is, you don’t need to buy an FLX-10 to use them!
That’s right - any Rekordbox compatible controller can unlock this functionality!
DDJ-400/800/1000/FLX-4/FLX-6/CDJs and many more can now get a massive upgrade for FREE.
All it takes is a few minutes of your time and a reasonably powerful laptop.
I’ve been playing with them over the weekend and they are crazy fun!
You may notice however, they sound like ass 🍑.
Don’t expect to get production ready results. But combined with FX, layering and other techniques, you can really add a lot of variety to your sets.
Let’s just pretend everyone else didn’t have this months ago yeah..
Add Rekordbox Stems to ANY Pioneer Controller FAST
Use midi mapping to get Rekordbox stems onto your controller right now! You can even add the FX and part isolation functions.
🚨 DDJ-800 / DDJ-1000 Users
It is not possible to get stems onto pads with the midi mapping method
Instead, use pad edit mode

Other updates
I’ve recently started learning to scratch. For the 5th time. One of the reasons I wanted to learn was to give me more flexibility in my transitions. I’m hoping to combine this with stems for even more creative opportunities!
The YouTube channel continues to grow - thanks for all your support ❤️
I’m definitely not going to replace my DDJ-1000 for the FLX10. Probably.
